Signs it's time to switch

  • Your income has been flat for months with no plan.
  • You don't get reports, or they're unclear.
  • They pressure you about content or don't respect your limits.
  • They don't reply or disappear.
  • They charge things that weren't in the contract.

1. Check your contract

See how much notice you must give, whether there are penalties and what it says about the account and content. See what to check in a contract.

2. Recover your access

Change passwords for the account, email and socials, and turn on two-factor authentication. Make sure payouts stay in your name.

3. Give notice in writing

Communicate your exit in writing, respecting the contract's deadlines.

4. Avoid a gap

Ideally the new agency starts right when the old one ends, so your fans don't notice a change in messaging or posting.
